Archaeological site

The ancient settlement of Tharros found at the end of Sinai Peninsula. It unfolds in the Gulf of Oristano on a sort of natural amphitheater bordered on the N from the hill of Su Muru Mannu, O from that of the tower of San Giovanni and S from the isthmus that connects it to the promontory of Capo San Marco. Tharros was founded towards the end of the eighth century BC and was abandoned around the year 1050 A.D. to give origin to Aristiane, the current Oristano.
